How big is SoftwareCrafting and who builds the work?
SoftwareCrafting is seven senior engineers based in Naraina, New Delhi, founded in 2022. Deepak Rajput is founder and CEO; Badal Singh is a technical author and engineer. The rest of the team does not maintain public profiles. Projects are staffed senior-only — there is no arrangement where a senior scopes the work and juniors build it — and the engineer who would build your project joins a call before anything is signed. The practical limit of a team this size is around ten engineers on one programme, and we say so rather than take work and hire against it.

Senior-only on the work
We do not pyramid-staff. There is no arrangement where a senior scopes the project and juniors build it, because at seven people there is nowhere to hide one.
You meet them first
The engineer who would build your project joins a call before anything is signed. If an agency will not do that — including us — treat it as the answer to a different question.
The scoper is the builder
Whoever writes your proposal is on the delivery team. Estimates made by people who will not have to meet them are the root of most schedule failures.
Cover is built in
Illness and leave are covered from within the team at no extra cost. That is one of the concrete things an agency rate buys over a freelance one.
The Limits Of Seven People
What a team this size cannot do
Small teams are better at some things and genuinely worse at others. These are the ones worth knowing before you spend three weeks in a procurement process with us.
- We cannot staff more than about ten engineers at once, and we will say so rather than take the work and hire against it.
- We do not hold ISO or SOC certification. At seven people neither is proportionate, and our security page states that outright.
- We do not work in Angular, Vue, .NET, Java, or PHP. We will tell you on the first call rather than put someone on a framework they learned last month.
- We do not build games, AR/VR, or enterprise ERP implementations.
