Service Overview

We build and audit smart contracts for teams shipping real products on chain, not proofs of concept. That means Solidity contracts written against a clear spec, a full test suite covering the adversarial cases as well as the happy path, gas profiling before deployment, and an upgrade strategy chosen deliberately rather than bolted on later. We work across Ethereum and the major EVM chains, plus the off chain half that most teams underestimate: indexers, event listeners, wallet connection flows, and the backend that has to stay consistent with chain state when a transaction reverts or a reorg happens. Before writing any contract we map which parts of your product genuinely need to be on chain and which are cheaper, faster, and safer kept in a normal database. Most projects need far less on chain surface than they first assume, and cutting that surface is the single biggest reduction in both cost and risk.

Our Delivery Process

We use an agile, transparent process to ensure your project is completed on time and meets exactly your needs.

01

Scope and chain selection

Map what genuinely needs to be on chain, pick the chain and toolchain, and agree the threat model.

3-5 days
02

Contract design

Write the specification, state machine, access control model, and upgrade strategy before any code.

5-8 days
03

Implementation and testing

Build contracts alongside unit, integration, and fuzz tests, with gas profiling on every iteration.

2-4 weeks
04

Review and hardening

Internal security review, fixes, and support coordinating an external audit where the value at risk warrants it.

1-2 weeks
05

Integration and testnet

Wire up the frontend, indexer, and backend, then run the whole system on testnet under realistic conditions.

1-2 weeks
06

Mainnet launch and handover

Staged deployment, contract verification, monitoring setup, and a documented handover of keys and runbooks.

3-5 days
Why Us

Why Choose SoftwareCrafting?

  • A clear on chain and off chain boundary that keeps costs down
  • Contracts tested against adversarial cases, not only the happy path
  • Gas costs understood and optimized before you pay mainnet prices
  • Upgrade strategy decided up front instead of discovered in a crisis
  • Wallet flows that ordinary users can actually complete
  • Backend that stays consistent when transactions revert
  • Key management and multi-signature setup documented and handed over
  • Verified, readable contracts that build user and auditor trust
  • Monitoring so you learn about problems before your users do
  • A team that will tell you when you do not need a blockchain
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I actually need a blockchain for this product?

Often not, and we will say so. Blockchains are worth their cost when you need trustless settlement between parties who do not trust each other, verifiable public state, or user owned assets that outlive your company. If your requirement is really an audit log, a payments flow, or a loyalty balance, a normal database is cheaper, faster, and easier to fix. We run this assessment before quoting so you do not pay for infrastructure you do not need.

Do you provide a formal security audit?

We do a thorough internal security review covering reentrancy, access control, integer handling, oracle manipulation, front running, and upgrade safety. That is not the same as a formal audit from a specialist firm. For contracts holding meaningful value we strongly recommend an external audit as well, and we prepare the codebase and documentation for it and manage the remediation cycle.

Which chains do you work with?

Ethereum mainnet and the major EVM compatible chains including Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base. Chain choice usually comes down to where your users already hold assets, what transaction costs your product can absorb, and what bridging you would need. We make that recommendation during scoping rather than defaulting to one chain.

Should contracts be upgradeable?

It is a genuine trade off. Upgradeable contracts let you fix bugs but require users to trust whoever holds the upgrade key, and the proxy pattern itself adds a class of bugs. We usually recommend upgradeability behind a multi-signature or timelock for early versions, with a documented path to freezing the contract once it has been stable and audited.

How do you handle the off chain parts?

This is where most projects lose time. We build the indexer, the event listeners, and the reconciliation logic that keeps your database consistent with chain state, including the cases teams forget: reverted transactions, dropped transactions, chain reorganizations, and RPC provider outages. The off chain half is usually more work than the contracts.

What does a smart contract project cost?

A single well scoped token or staking contract with tests and a testnet deployment typically starts around the figure listed above. A full product with custom contracts, an indexer, wallet flows, and backend integration is a multi month engagement. The largest cost drivers are the number of distinct contracts, whether an external audit is required, and how much off chain reconciliation the product needs.
