Service Overview

We build interactive 3D experiences that run in the browser, from product configurators and architectural walkthroughs to data visualizations and WebGL powered marketing pages. The work is usually React Three Fiber and Three.js on top of a normal React application, which means the 3D scene is a component in your product rather than a separate embedded thing that cannot talk to the rest of the page. The part that decides whether these projects succeed is performance discipline: draw call budgets, compressed textures, geometry instancing, level of detail, and a hard rule that the experience has to be usable on a mid range phone, not just the developer laptop it was built on. We set those budgets before modelling starts. We also build the fallbacks, because a meaningful share of your visitors will be on hardware or a network where the full scene is not the right answer, and they still need to be able to buy the product.

Key Features

  • Interactive 3D product configurators with real time material and colour changes
  • React Three Fiber and Three.js scenes integrated into React applications
  • Architectural and interior walkthroughs with guided camera paths
  • 3D data visualization for complex or spatial datasets
  • GLTF and GLB asset pipelines with Draco and Meshopt compression
  • Physically based rendering with realistic lighting and materials
  • Geometry instancing, level of detail, and draw call budgeting
  • Texture compression and progressive asset loading
  • Mobile and low end device performance tuning
  • Graceful fallbacks for devices without adequate WebGL support
  • Camera controls, hotspots, and annotation systems
  • Augmented reality view on supported mobile devices
  • Scene state synchronised with application state and the URL
  • Accessible alternatives so the content is not locked inside the canvas

Our Delivery Process

We use an agile, transparent process to ensure your project is completed on time and meets exactly your needs.

01

Concept and performance budget

Agree what the experience must do, then set hard budgets for asset size, draw calls, and target frame rate on real devices.

3-5 days
02

Asset pipeline

Establish how models arrive, get optimized, compressed, and versioned, so new products can be added without us.

1 week
03

Scene development

Build the scene, materials, lighting, camera behaviour, and interactions against the agreed budgets.

2-5 weeks
04

Application integration

Connect scene state to your application state, URL, and commerce or CRM flows so the 3D is functional rather than decorative.

1-2 weeks
05

Performance and device testing

Profile on real mid range and low end devices, tune until the budget holds, and build the fallback path.

1-2 weeks
06

Launch and handover

Ship, instrument load time and frame rate, and hand over the asset pipeline documentation.

3-5 days
Why Us

Why Choose SoftwareCrafting?

  • Products explored interactively instead of through a gallery of stills
  • 3D that lives inside your React app rather than in a disconnected embed
  • Performance budgets agreed before modelling, not discovered at launch
  • Usable on mid range phones, which is where most of your traffic is
  • Compressed assets so the first frame arrives quickly
  • Fallbacks that let every visitor complete the same task
  • Configurator state in the URL, so a configuration can be shared
  • Accessible text alternatives for content inside the canvas
  • Asset pipeline your team can feed new models into
  • Measured load time and frame rate, reported honestly
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work on phones?

It has to, and that constraint shapes every decision. We set device targets and performance budgets before modelling starts, test on real mid range Android hardware rather than only a developer laptop, and build a fallback experience for devices that cannot run the full scene. A 3D experience that only works on high end hardware is not finished.

How large are the assets and will they slow the page down?

Uncompressed models are often tens of megabytes, which is not shippable. With Draco or Meshopt geometry compression, compressed textures, and progressive loading, a typical product configurator lands in the low single digit megabytes with a usable first frame well before everything has loaded. We agree the budget up front and hold to it.

What 3D models do you need from us?

Ideally clean GLTF or GLB, but we regularly work from FBX, OBJ, or native CAD exports and handle the conversion, retopology, and optimization. If you do not have models at all, we can scope the modelling as part of the project. What matters most is knowing how many product variants you will eventually need, since that drives the pipeline design.

Can customers configure a product and share the result?

Yes. We keep configurator state in the URL so a configuration can be bookmarked, shared, or sent to support, and we connect it to your commerce or quoting flow so a configured product carries through to the cart or enquiry with the right specification attached.

Does 3D content hurt SEO?

It does if the only content is inside a canvas element, because search engines and screen readers cannot read it. We render real HTML content alongside the scene covering the same information, so the page is indexable and accessible independent of whether WebGL runs at all.

Can you add augmented reality?

Yes, on supported mobile devices, using the same optimized assets through the platform AR viewers. It works well for furniture, equipment, and anything where physical scale in a real room is the customer question. We treat it as an enhancement on top of the web experience rather than a separate build.
